Review: MSR Hubba NX 1

Another tent? YES another and this time amazing tent. About 2 years ago I bought a Hilleberg Anaris . Which works great in the woods, but is just not good in sandy or rocky soil.  In fact no non free standing tent is good in the sand. And in the past few years I have been bikepacking more and more, so. I wanted a light 1 person free standing tent. The MSR Hubba NX 1 is perfect for bikepacking or backpacking.

I’ve used it a bunch since getting it and it is super spacious, sturdy  and incredibly light.  Weighing in at less than 3 pounds and packing down to a tiny 18×6 it is so light you don’t notice it. It sets up anywhere and in minutes. I have never used it in the rain, but other than that I’ve put it through it’s paces.
Cool thing, the pole is carbon and a single piece.
What you might notice is how high the tent walls are, which makes this feel spacious. Especially when spending a long winter night in the tent.
The tent does not sag at all, even with the high dollar Hilleberg tents I tend to wake up with one of the walls starting to lean in on your noggin.
It is spacious and sturdy, what else do you need?

Nothing to complain about. Go buy this, or the newer model, it’ll be great.
