Have you ever purchased a pack that just fits perfect and you’ve wonder where it was all your life? That is the Atmosphere Mountainworks Cloud Peak for me. It is the summer in Moab so going for a hike means hauling nalgenes and not much else. Loading this pack down with way to much water on almost every hike and I have never once noticed it. You know a pack is bad when you spend the whole hike pulling on straps and loosen different straps. That has never been the case with the Cloud Peak.
The pack is made in Laramie Wyoming and you can tell the folks hike. I have made a deal with myself that I will only buy packs that have side pockets for bottles. And this pack can fit a Nalgene or insulted Klean Kanteen in the side pockets.
The top pocket is made the right way, the zipper is on the top, unlike the Wilderness Experience pack which is on the bottom allowing your goods to fall out.
You’ll also note the daisy chain of heavy duty webbing, which also goes down the front of the pack. Check out this attention to detail, the extended flap lets you just use one clip and keeps the lid in place even when it is not packed to the brim, a common problem on top loaders.
The outer pocket is perfect for your bars or mini tripod.
And the inside is one main compartment with a drawstring closure.
In short, this bag is perfect for hiking and they look cool as hell. Plus the are always made in new color combos, making yours pretty unique.
