With my new Hilleberg Anaris tent being a trekking pole tent I noticed my other trekking poles were about 15 years old. So why not lighten up and refresh my gear. Plus my wife and I fight over them in the winter, so that problem is now solved. After some research I ended up with Zpacks Carbon Trekking Poles and I think they are pretty darn good.
The first thing I notice was how the locking levers did not require a ton of force, unlike my old ones. They just snap closed.
They have very easy to read height indicators, which is key for a well balanced tent 🙂
And I got the cork handle, but I dig the extended handle which is good for grabbing in really rocky terrain.
And they store quite small.
So yeah light weight and sturdy at $99, which is an unbelievable price. Get a pair if you need some new trekking poles.
