Review: Black Diamond HeavyWeight Softshell Gloves

These gloves are the best deal out there  to keep your hands warm in the winter.  The Black Diamond Heavyweight Softshell Glove is a great warm glove for high energy cold weather adventures. I have had these for about 3 months during which I have gone canyoneering in the high desert, mountain biking in Moab and fat biking in Colorado all with these. They will keep you warm when it is at freezing or just below and you are putting out a little bit of effort.

The gloves do not have a big gauntlet, which is so uncommon in winter gloves, heck I usually avoid buying gloves without them. But these are made of highly breathable and water resistant Softshell with Primaloft insulation, goat skin palm and a fleece lined cuff.
The goat skin palm is great for holding on to handlebars, ice axe or trekking poles.

These gloves are dexterous enough to use while mountain biking, using an ice axe, etc. They are also really warm when it is about 30°F or above. Below that you’ll want a glove cover or to be making a lot of heat, like when climbing up before the downhill.
I am super psyched on these, you should check them out. I originally got the Lightweight Softshell glove a year or so ago and liked them so much I picked these up.
Built with durable, stretchy and weather-resistant softshell fabric for high-output pursuits in mild conditions, the Black Diamond HeavyWeight Softshell gloves offer dynamic, breathable protection while ski touring, climbing or hiking. The full goat leather palms and fingers offer a secure grip on poles or tools, and feature digital material on the thumbs and index fingers to allow for gloves-on touchscreen functionality. Fleece-lined neoprene cuffs seal out the elements and make for easy on and off.
