Review: Kuat Pivot Rack Adapter

I absolutely love my Kuat NV Racks. I have both the original NV and the NV 2.0 , and the Vagabond X roof rack.  Since getting my Jeep Wrangler a few years back I have had the NV on most days. Which has made getting in to the back of my Jeep a pain. But I ride bikes more than I get in to the back of my Jeep so on it stays. That was a problem until the good people at Kuat came out with the Pivot.

Thew Pivot serves two purposes. It allows the rack to fit past the spare tires AND it swings out to give you access to the back of your vehicle. It attaches with a locking bolt which eliminates rattling of the rack.

The rack stays in place with a solid latch and a backup pin. The pin can be moved to the outer position to lock the rack open.

If you  leave your rear rack on most of the time and want an easy way to get in to the back of you ride you should go pick up the Kuat Pivot.

Love riding but also love post-ride tailgating? Now you can have both. The Pivot allows your bike rack (up to a loaded NV 2.0 4-Bike) to effortlessly swing away, providing ample clearance for tail gates, rear gates or just increasing your hatchback access.
