Review: 40 Below Light Energy Short Overboots

You want to run in the winter, but you don’t want numb feet? Want to know what to do? Get some 40 Below Light Energy Shorty Overboots. They are made of neoprene to keep the wet out and the heat in.

The design is easy to to slip on over running shoes even with cold hands. Which is important to note, these have a textured sole. But not for walking in. You either need your snowshoes or yak trax.

To keep your feet warm you use one of two thickness foam pads between your shoes and the bottom of the overboot.

These are the shorties, you may want to put a gaiter over them in super duper deep powder. But they also make a longer version of the TR Light Energy.

My wife has been running in these for a while now and loves them! Considering the money you spend on Gore-Tex running shoes and how wet your feet get in those these are a no brainer. Go buy them!
