I had to replace my bottom bracket in my Stumpjumper and knew I could remove the bottom bracket entirely with existing tools and some luck. Or I could spend $30 on a tool to remove and press the BB in. I went with the Park Tools BBT30-3 and am really glad I did. Everything went smooth and I never feared I was scoring my frame with a bad hammer blow.
It comes with 3 pieces, a screwdriver like tool to push out the bearings and spindle. It has a stepped insert to sit centered in the BB and a full metal shaft with a metal nub on the end for hammering.
And it includes two metal cups to press in the bearings. These are designed to fit in the Park headset tool. I no longer have a headset press, so I just used some parts I had lying around with the cups from the BBT30-3 .
This could not have been easier. This took what looked like a tricky process down to an easy 30 minute task. I say buy this tool.
