I have been on the lookout for a lightweight wind jacket that I could wear on a cool day or when the winds kicks up on a climb. However most wind jackets these days are super thin, literally paper thin. I am afraid they will fall apart in one use. At long last my search has come to an end with the Montbell Dynamo Wind Parka.
This ultralight highly breathable coat packs down to a tiny ball in the included stuff sack. So small, no reason not to bring it with you.
The Montbell Dynamo Wind Parka has two waist pockets.
The velcro cuffs are nice for adding a bit of warmth when the weather turns bad.
And a nice size hood that can roll up in to the collar of the coat.
I’ve been wearing this for months hiking, riding and everything else.
Awesome coat, no reason not to buy one and keep it in your pack at all times.

The Dynamo Wind Series offers an excellent blend of breathability & comfort, while sheltering you from pesky insects, light precipitation, or alpine gusts. Being highly compressible and light in weight we defy you to find a reason not to take them to the trail on your next peak ascent, trail run, or mountain bike excursion. We all head into the wilderness with hopes for a “blue bird” day, but only the wise are prepared for a curveball from Mother Nature.
