Review: 40 Below Bottle Boot

I like using Nalgene .5L bottles, for many reasons. Among those I like its size the most, you can bring just enough for the few hour adventure. I also like bringing one full of hot tea and one full of water.

However in the cold you run the risk of the bottles either freezing or the hot tea quickly becoming iced tea. Oh but not anymore. The Forty Below Bottle Boot is an awesome bottle cover for the .5L Nalgene (also available in  other sizes). It fits perfectly on the bottle and is easy to use with gloves on.

40 Below makes their Bottle Boots out of thick 6.5mm closed cell neoprene in the USA. The bottle has a simple velcro closure to make opening and closing easy with gloves on.

The large piece of webbing with velcro is so much easier to use with gloves than zippers which most other bottle covers have.

The 40 Below Bottle Boot also makes the .5L Nalgene fit perfectly in a bike bottle cage. No more frozen bottles on the fat bike.

I’m all about the Forty Below Bottle Boot. It makes the already awesome .5L bottle even more useful. And at $18 for a great American made product you can’t go wrong.
