Review: Helly Hansen HH Dry Revolution LS Base Layer

I love a nice baselayer, they just make sense. You can use them to layer in the winter, or stand alone in the fall. I buy them instead of long sleeve mountain bike jerseys to ride and hike with. It is cool 8 months out of the year up here in the mountains so I wear them a lot.
One that I have been wearing a ton is the Helly Hansen Dry Revolution LS Base Layer. It is made out of Helly Hansen’s LIFA material which is soft and warm. It fits snug against your body to not allow wind in between you and the shirt which can cool you off. On really cold days I will wear it with the Helly Hansen Pace Short Sleeve shirt. On long cold climbs this is a great combo to prevent you from over heating.

Since the HH Dry Revolution LS Base Layer breaths so well you can keep dry while climbing. As a result you can throw a light jacket on for the descent since you’re not soaked. I throw the Helly Hansen H2 Flow Jacket on since it is light and easy to pack. On this 30 minute long downhill back to the trailhead I stayed toasty, and it was 10°F out!

This is a great base layer from the folks at Helly Hansen. It is soft, comfortable, wicks well and dries fast. You should definitely add one to your cool weather riding gear.
