There is no pump involved, it uses gravity to push water through a filter; thus the name GravityWorks. Don’t get the wrong idea, this is not the same as the water pitcher filter in your fridge that takes forever. Not the case, It fills up a Nalgene in less than a minute.
To start the process hook up one of the output adapters to your container of choice, here it is using the Nalgene adapter.
Next connect up your filter hoses.
Once connected all you need to do is fill the bag labelled “Dirty”, connect it to the filter and wait a matter of seconds to fill up a bottle. I filled the bag by dipping it in the cold high mountain lake and that was pretty great… When I started doing this stuff in my teens we’d add 3 drops of iodine in our bottles. That did not taste the best!
All of this in done in moments. When you are done you can fill up a huge reservoir for camp use or dump it out. All of this fits nicely in a neat little package with included Platypus bladder and loads of adapters.
I really like how easy this is to use. It takes more time to put it away than to use it!
