Review: Patagonia Wavefarer Board Shorts

One thing I look for in outdoor gear is if I can use it for more than just one sport. A great example of that is the Patagonia Wavefarer Board Short. They are by far one of the best mountain bike baggy shorts you can get that are also great for hiking, climbing and everything else.

One reason I don’t buy mountain bike baggy shorts is that they tend to be either too long or too heavy. This is where the Patagonia Wavefarer board shorts really excel, they are very lightweight but still super durable. I have been riding in them for the past 3 years and they are no worse for wear.

I like that they are not too long and not overly complicated. Have you ever notice most mountain bike baggies have a dozen pockets? Only one on the side of the Wavefarer Board Shorts.

They don’t snag on your seat when riding which is great.

Plus they dry fast, since they are made for the water, which comes in handy in the spring snow or summer rain storms.

Plus off the bike, they don’t look like “bike” shorts. They look good, even with a big dumb hat on.
