Review: PDW Dave’s Mud Shovel Fat Bike Fenders

For a while now I have seen pictures of fat bikes with fenders. I couldn’t quite understand why, until now. The spring came in with a ton of wet sloppy, but snow more importantly my short ride to the trailhead on dirt roads is just disgusting.

The PDW Dave’s Mud Shovel is a great fat bike fender. Nice hardware and ingenious attachment. Snaps! It Snaps to the frame mounts. The front fender uses rubber straps that are trimmed to fit.

The rear fender attaches to the seat post, or in my case the seat tube. A quick release attachment with secure hose clamp style adjustment. And once again, it snaps to the mount.

Great adjustments.

They do an amazing job keeping the slop off of you. After the first ride I was convinced these are a must for spring snow biking.

And I just had to mention this, the packaging is actually the fender. Kind of ingenious.  They are sold individually, but you might as well buy the pair as they do such a great job.

The Dave’s Mud Shovelâ„¢ rear fender is designed specifically for fat bikes. Its extra long, wide design blocks the snow, water, and sand that you’ll be blasting through on your next fat bike adventure, keeping your backside dry.
