Review: Huberds Shoe Grease

It’s spring snow time which means wet, abrasive corn snow. I have used Sno Seal for a long time,  but the combo of my leather hiking boots and corn snow I have had to reapply Sno Seal way more than I ever expected. I have been using Huberds Shoe Oil on my dress boots for a long time and it works great. So with that experience I wanted to try Huberds Shoe Grease.

The words on the can “Shoe Grease” were a bit off putting since I imagined a heavy goopy grease which would attract dust and muck. Wow, I was wrong. Huberds Shoe Grease is made of bees wax and some other natural non animal ingredients.

I warmed my boots up with a shoe drier and applied it with a rag. It spreads on easily and only required a single coat.

The original boots were scuffed from hiking in the snow and the leather was exposed letting water in.

This is what it looks like while applying Huberd’s Shoe Grease.  It spreads easily in to the welting above the sole.

This was a quick and easy job. After a week of daily multihour hike in the snow, the Huberds Shoe Grease is holding up.

I have found a new waterproofing for my boots, Huberds Shoe Grease is it.
