Review: Ortlieb Medium Saddlebag

After a flat tire got the better of me on the snow bike, I now carry a spare fat tube. Now when I look at pics of other folks fat bikes online I see them all decked out with luggage like they riding the Oregon Trail. But who am I to argue, I thought I’d try an Ortlieb Medium Saddle Bag to hold my spare tube and Soulrun Tool Roll.

The bag is cavernous while somehow not seeming big at all. It attaches with velcro for the seat post and a neat mount that screws on the rails of the saddle. The mount screws on, then the bag clicks in. Super solid mounting system.

The bag is 100% waterproof with a roll top closure like on a dry bag.

I find it easy to use and really like the bag. The price is right and it’s Ortlieb so you know it is quality.
I usually prefer a pack instead of a saddle bag, but I thought I’d give it a try. I like it on the snow bike! I don’t think I’ll do it on my XC mtn bike. But horses for courses… or maybe bag’s for stags?
