Don’t be mistaken this is not just a wind breaker, it is really warm layer for cold days. The Acetylene jacket takes a neat approach to keeping you warm, they use a light Primaloft panel on the front and fleece on the arms and back.
The Primaloft keeps your core warm and keeps the wind out. It is also made of 50% recycled material which is pretty cool!
I wonder what I am doing with my hands… |
The back and arms are constructed of stretchable grid fleece. The fleece breaths incredibly well.
One of my favorite features of the Acetylene jacket are the thumb loops. When the climb up the mountain is over and you have a long descent they can make the difference between numb hands and … not numb hands.
The jacket has two zippered hand pockets and a napoleon pocket.
The collar has the same grid fleece as other parts of the coat, keeping you warm and comfortable.
This coat packs down so small I bring it with me on all of my hikes and rides now.
If you are looking for that layer to bring with you on cold active days, pick up the Outdoor Research Acetylene Jacket.
