Review: Mountain Khakis Granite Creek Shorts

It is no secret, I am a fan of Mountain Khakis gear.  It is made incredibly well, super functional and it looks great. I picked up a pair of Mountain Khakis Granite Creek Shorts and have been wearing them non stop. The Granite Creek Shorts are tech shorts made for a day on the trail while looking good enough to wear out to dinner. The shorts are made out of 6.3oz brushed nylon, which makes for super comfortable fast drying pair of shorts. If you don’t want to read the rest of the review I’ll sum it up: they are the bomb.

The fabric used makes them feel like they are made of cotton. Some tech apparel feels  like you are wearing a track suit from an1980s LL Cool J video(LL Cool J rocks, no offense meant to Uncle L), not these. They come in two lengths, 9 and 11″ inseams. I went for the 9.

Pockets are everywhere, the right side has a regular pocket and a zippered pocket. You can see the triple stitched seams used in the construction. The shorts have a gusseted crotch which is great for scrambling in the backcounty, but I don’t think anyone wants to see a picture of that.

The left side has a regular pocket and a cargo pocket. A nice feature on these shorts is that the pockets aren’t huge. They are not all bulky and goofy looking.

There is one rear zippered pocket.

These Mountain Khakis Granite Creek Shorts are great shorts. They are perfect for use on the trail or out on town. Really these shorts look so good you can wear these out on not look like a page from a 70s hiking book. I like these so much I am going to pick up a second pair.
