Review: Red Chili Durango Climbing Shoes

I recently picked up a pair of Red Chili Durango climbing shoes. Previously I had two pair of slip-ons I used for bouldering. But those kicks had been resoled 2x each. Not to mention that the smell had gotten to be too much for me. Plus those slip-ons were incredibly uncomfortable. Not because of anything related to the shoes, but because I bought 1 or 2 sizes down, as was the style at the time.

Red Chili calls the Durango an all day shoes and they are certainly comfortable without giving up performance.

The shoes feature an isometric last for improved fit and grip.

They Durango has full length laces so you can dial in the fit (for me loose in the toes, tight in the heel, not that you cared).

And a great feature, they have dual pull loops on the back. Nothing sucks more than putting on a climbing shoe when one has torn…

They are considered a beginner shoe, but they feel and work like all the other climbing shoes I have used. They are a nice price at only $89. (Neptune Mountaineering has them on sale right now).
