Review: Gerber Vise Multi Tool Update- Junk

On a ride this summer I bent my rear rotor. So you’d think I could bend it back with my… oh wait I didn’t have any pliers. I thought I could pull out the brake pads and ride back, nope no pliers. After the ride I looked for a small multi tool with pliers. I picked up a Gerber Vise.

The pliers are small, but perfect for the bike bag and with wire cutters built in.

A small flat blade screwdriver, a small phillips, a medium flat blade and a bottle opener.

It has a tiny serrated blade.

A tiny regular blade.

This little tool is $12, which is really kind of amazing. It has a problem, the tools are very difficult to open, the indents are small and the tools are super tight, so you need to be careful opening the blades. I keep it in my hydration back when riding.

Now I finally had a chance to use the pliers part of it in my pack, and it snapped like a twig. So don’t waste your money on this.

Gerber says:

  • Strong mini-pliers
  • Keychain compatible
  • Lightweight, anodized aluminum handles
