Review: SmartWool Midweight Zip

I am a big fan of SmartWool, I have been wearing the hell out of their TML Jacket. I recently picked up one of their Midweight (250 g/m^2) layers.

One of the nice things about a wool layer over synthetics is that they do not hold odors, ok  synthetics  stink like a gym sock after they have been worn enough times. I end up throwing out “Tech T’s” that won’t ever loose their stink. Another nice bit about wool is that it really does keep you warmer when wet then synthetics.

The SmartWool Midweight Zip T is perfect for hiking or riding. The zip is easy to use while riding, perfect for regulating heat on those long uphills.

And as someone who has tried many different brands of wool layers, why I stick with SmartWool is that it does not shrink when washed. I have been BURNED so many times by other brands.  Why spend good money on a layer that you are going to get sweaty and you will be afraid to wash? No worries with SmartWool.  Pick one up if you need a midweight layer, perfect for days in the 40-60°F or under another layer for colder days.
