Review: Mountain Khaki Granite Creek Pants

I have been hiking in Mountain Khaki Granite Creek pants for months now and I really like them. They are great for days when it is too cold for shorts, but you are not yet ready to break out the snow pants. These pants breath really well, dry quickly and are super durable.

To say they  have a plethora of pockets is an understatement.  To begin there are two side pockets, which are mesh on the inside. The right hand pocket also has a zippered mesh pocket along side it.

On the left leg there is a cargo pocket, with yet another zippered pocket inside it.

And a rear zippered wallet pocket. Which is handy, cause who is going to buy your after hike burrito if you lose your cash while out scrambling on some rocks?

The Granite Creek pants are great for hiking in. They are so breathable you don’t get that sticky/sweaty/clammy leg which happens if you try to hike in some other pants. The material they are made out of dries quickly and does not absorb too much, which is good if you have to cross a stream or get caught hiking out in a rain storm.

I started wearing Mountain Khaki pants a while ago when my rotation of Carhartts began to look haggard. Their original mountain pants are best described as dressier Carhartts. I wear those for work almost every day now. Also you have to like Mountain Khaki because they sponsor Team Mountain Khakis a USA based road cycling team with Adam Meyerson.

Just as a note, when I bought these they were called “Snake River Pants”.
