I had to head down to DC yesterday for work. But I wrapped plenty of fun around it.
First I stopped at a Shaeffer farms off of I-270 in Gathersburg. They have 15 miles of singletrack, sweet smooth singletrack. Plenty of twists and turns. I went to school down in DC, but when I was here they had just built the first 5 miles. They have added 10 more and it is fun!
Its kind of crazy how much development there has been in regards to the trails and the housing. This place used to be in the middle of nowhere, now there is a highschool right next door.
Lots of signage too. Which is good, you can take a bunch of variations and keep the ride interesting. If I get out of here early enough today I’ll hit it on the way out of town.
And then I caught the Bouncing Souls and Strike Anywhere at the Black Cat. Good show, made even better when Brian Baker of Minor Threat and Dag Nasty fame came out to place the last song. Damn good stuff.
