I raced the Phelps School CX race in Malvern this past weekend. It was a blast, it was my first CX race in two years since leaving the PRB (people republic of boulder). It rained the whole race. The grassy fields got slick fast.
I stole this pic from cyclingcaptured.com Its not me…
But you don’t come to this blog to hear about my mid-pack racing antics, lets talk gear.
I rode the Seven Mudhoney with Discs. I had broken my chain in a training ride, so I replaced it and the cassette last week. IT worked perfectly. The cassette, derailleur and pedals were COVERED in grass and mud. It never miss-shifted. XTR is totally worth it.
Also I had hella’ muddy shoes and the Cranks Bros pedals never gave me a problem engaging so that is awesome.
I am out of retirement…
