Today I left for an early mountain bike ride, it was in the mid 20s and sunny. Normally temps this low can beat your spirits down, but I think the sun really helped to keep me going. Plus the trails were totally frozen which made for perfect riding.
I rode with my buddy for about 1:15 then he went home and I rode for an additional hour and half by myself. It was such a nice day, I was warm so no need to go home. Plus I ran in to Laura and the dog so that was cool.
speaking of comfy….
I rode for a long time out in the cold and was warm the whole time. I guess its not too unusual but I get really cold in the winter riding. I know most people do… but I tend to get really friggin cold and just suffer through that 1 hour ride to skip riding the trainer. But not today! 25 degrees F out and I was good. So this is what I was wearing:
on the bottom:
Bellweather windfront tights
Pearl Izumi spandex shorts
wool socks
Diadora Chili Extreme Winter shoes
Sidetrak neoprene shoe covers
on the top:
Craft wool baselayer
Castellli softshell jacket
Craft Lobster Claw gloves
Nike bike hat that covers your ears..
I was all good.
Heres me all bundled up:
