Price: $100, but they go on sale.
Panniers are nice if you are carrying a lot of crap around, like a laptop, groceries and maybe some camping gear if you want to try that.
These panniers are REI’s house brand and thats cool because REI totally stands behind their gear. They have a built in rain cover, a large central pocket that can hold a laptop plus clothes and the top flap is a pocket that can hold your wallet and phone plus some gloves and a hat.
REI uses the KLICKFIX mounting system that makes getting the bag on and off a breeze, plus they area snap to set up.
I did my usual clothes, laptop, Kryptonite New York Chain Lock and more in this bag with no problem. They look well built and I used them for a month. But then I had to abandon them. The build in rain cover did not fit over the whole bag snugly enough. It fit, sort of, the bottom or the top showed. And when you leave in rainy rainy pittsburgh you gots to be waterproof. So they went back to REI.
