Review: Sugoi RS Shorts

I have been wearing Pearl Izumi shorts for more than a decade. But the last batch I got were really shabby. The chamois on 3 of the 4 pair I had started to separate internally and bunch up inside the chamois. I find this odd for $150 shorts. So I tried a pair of Sugoi RS Shorts.

The first thing you notice is that these shorts are thin lightweight material, lighter than the Pearl PRO shorts. The chamois is really nice, its one piece of thin foam like material, and after more than a year of wearing, washing, crashing, wearing and washing again these have held up just fine. I have 3 pair of these now and think they are great.

And here is a video of a guy with finely sculpted side burns talking about the FX Chamois in this video.

Here is what sugoi has to say about them:
The RS Short has earned a reputation as a worldwide multi award-winning short . This incredible short is made from Ultra Aero fabric, which is a dimensionally-constructed kit that creates less friction and superior aerodynamics when moving through the air. The fabric’s firm stretch and recovery provides high-tenacity fit to keep muscles energized and working efficiently during extreme conditions. With an impressive 10 panel contour design, signature leg grip, and SUGOI flat seam, the RS Short is truly SUGOI’s pride and joy.
