I got a SUGOI HOV(Human Occupied Vehicle) jacket and pants and wanted to do an initial review. I usually like to use stuff a little longer but this stuff is too nice to wait.
This HOV line is not meant for going out on a training ride, but more for running around town and commuting by bike. But damn you will look good while commuting in this stuff. If you had to wear your bike clothes in the office these would be great.
This is stylish enough, I feel I should be hanging out at a independent coffee shop drinking fare trade coffee and eating an organic flax seed scone.
The jacket and pants are a slimmer cut, which is very nice for the bike. The material is breathable tech of some kind. There are nice touches like a front chest pocket, rear side pocket and pockets all around on the pants. Plus a very nice feature of the pants are belt loops. Always nice on commuting drawls.
Clearly this stuff is well thought out, the jackets also has a snap down tail that can be used on rainy or wet days to avoid the dreaded butt drip.
I harped a lot on how this stuff looks, but I think its important. As more and more people use their bike as transportation this type of clothing goes a long way. I have no scientific evidence to support the following theory, but in my experience if you look like a regular (albeit stylin…) person on the bike and not a spandex clad astronaut the cars on the road will give you more room passing as they identify you as a human and not some weird bike nerd.
Anyhow this is really well made, sharp looking gear that you should get if you use your bike for transportation.
I’ll do a follow up review in a few months after some more rainy and cold rides.
Now where is my copy of the utne reader, I need something for the coffee shop….
