Where the Washakie has a double layer of fabric the Hellroaring is a single layer and perfect for those in between days. The type of day where you are going to start and end in the cold but generate some heat in the middle.
I have been hiking, mountain biking and backpacking with these. They are quick drying and breathable. Which is great for keeping you legs from getting clammy.
While mountain biking they are great. The fit is perfect and they feature a reflective roll up cuff to keep your chainrings from shredding them.I also like the roll to keep you cooler on the climbs.
I have done long days in the backcountry in these and really like them. Tough enough for some scrambling but light enough to keep you dry when going fast.
Some details, side slash pockets and a zipper pocket lower down on one side and a iphone sized pocket on the other. Plus two rear pockets for a wallet and a hanky.
The thing about Roscoe gear is that while they can stand up to abuse, they are just crazy comfortable. These can be worn lounging around the house or while climbing a mountain. Great gear from a small company in Idaho. Pick up a pair!
