After my failed attempt to find the fine line on the map that is trail #24, I went back for redemption. It was May and it was hot. Totally worth it, and possibly my favorite bikepack yet.
The start of Lavender is wet and has lots of cow traffic. About 1.5 miles after the gate you’ll see a very faint break in the scrub on your right. You might doubt it, but go for it. You are now out of the sand and on sweet old abandoned jeep double track.
