These North Face Insulate Boots have been in some heavy use by my wife for hiking, snowshoeing and fat biking. They feature 200G of Primaloft and a “waterproof” coated upper.<\/p>\n

While they might look like Sorels they are not, they are better. Sorels have a bad sole for hiking in the snow, these have a very aggressive sole which makes snowy hikes much more fun and safe. And for fat biking they grip flat pedals way better.<\/p>\n

Now how warm do they keep your feet? It depends on the use. On a hike down to the 20s they will keep your feet warm, below that they will not. On the fat bike they are good to about 30\u00b0F. Below that they do not have enough insulation. 200G of Primaloft is nothing to scoff at, but not as warm as the boots from Baffin, which are in a league of their own.<\/p>\n

The uppers are supposed to be waterproof but have proven to not be that. All said, these are nice boots for moderate winter conditions.<\/p>\n
