Wildbasin is one of my favorite places in RMNP, well to be honest, anywhere. And spring backpacking in the mountains always presents a cool challenge. Starting in the trailhead everything is dry and warm. The creeks are flowing.<\/p>\n

It is only 6.5 miles to the lake, but the last mile was snow, uneven wet snow. Drifty for a bit, then it just turned in to 5′ of snow.<\/p>\n

But oh the lake was great.<\/p>\n
