The Spot Gen 3 is just an amazing device for emergencies, peace of mind and relationships. I’m sure you’ve heard of these type of devices, GPS trackers or beacons have been around for a while. I got this about 4 years ago and it has been a great device.<\/p>\n

You know the obvious uses, you can track your movements, send for help, send an SOS and just a check in. This last one is why I like it. I tend to do a lot of things solo, and when you do a few days of backpacking or a really long summit days sending your significant other a message that says you are OK is priceless for their peace of mind.<\/p>\n

Another feature I like is that you can only do 1-way communication. There are some other devices that allow two way communication. I don’t want that in the back country. I go out to get away from that. Which is why I like this device. <\/p>\n

CUSTOM TRACKING RATES<\/span> 
SPOT Gen3’s customized tracking allows you to change the rate tracks are sent to 2\u00bd, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minutes when you upgrade to one of the new tracking services: Basic Or Extreme Tracking. 

MOTION-ACTIVATED TRACKING<\/span> 
A vibration sensor tells SPOT to send your GPS location when you are moving and to stop when you do. This conserves battery power and avoids sending duplicate tracks. 

CONTINUOUS TRACKING<\/span> 
SPOT Gen3 will send track messages until you turn off your SPOT. No need to reset after 24 hours.<\/div>\n
