If you’ve read this blog for any amount of time (13 years?!?!??) you know I have a backpack thing. I’ve tried a ton and am always looking for the right pack for the job. One pack to rule them all just does not exist. But I think I have found one pack to rule long day hikes in the  back country. The Ozone from Cold Cold World.  The best thing I can say about this pack is when it is on my back, I do not notice it! I can have a pile of nalgenes and food for crazy long days and just not think about my pack. That means it is perfect.<\/p>\n

It is a streamlined single large compartment top loader. I can fit everything I need for a long day in this pack from extra puffy coats, wind\/rain shells, food, water, camera and lens all in the main compartment.<\/p>\n

In the top compartment I keep things I need right away like hat and gloves.<\/p>\n

Under the lid is another compartment with a key loop. <\/div>\n

There is another zippered pocket is the main area and I LOVE that it is sewn in, so many packs now have these pockets that are only secured at the top and flap around and get caught every time you take something out. <\/div>\n

These packs are hand made in NH ,  I had crampon patches added to the sides and D-rings on the shoulder straps. <\/div>\n
