I realized I left my first mountain bike out. In 1990 I was given a Puch Chapparal 18 speed mtn bike. And I  started mountain biking on that. I left off yesterday with the Spooky.<\/p>\n<p>In 2004 I purchased a Klein Palomino used from my good friend John.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_Jz4f840sc_c\/SXhrxA882eI\/AAAAAAAABaU\/VofODVS0xhk\/s1600-h\/IMGP2939.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_Jz4f840sc_c\/SXhrxA882eI\/AAAAAAAABaU\/VofODVS0xhk\/s400\/IMGP2939.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294099851787426274\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>The palomino was a great bike. It climbed and descended well.  The Palomino is based on the Maverick design. The palomino originally came with bushings in the pivots which would wear out every 6 months. Maverick released an upgraded linkage that really worked well. I never had to replace it in two years until I sold it.<br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_Jz4f840sc_c\/SXhrEdzKZ3I\/AAAAAAAABaM\/hqmQtnSHPlk\/s1600-h\/mb-IMGP1350.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 300px; height: 400px;\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_Jz4f840sc_c\/SXhrEdzKZ3I\/AAAAAAAABaM\/hqmQtnSHPlk\/s400\/mb-IMGP1350.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294099086436886386\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>I sold it because of an incredible deal from Dave @ Redstone in November of 08&#8242; for a Turner Flux. The flux works really well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_Jz4f840sc_c\/SXlBuFXe3tI\/AAAAAAAABac\/ORAEjYv7A7Q\/s1600-h\/100_2819.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 300px;\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_Jz4f840sc_c\/SXlBuFXe3tI\/AAAAAAAABac\/ORAEjYv7A7Q\/s400\/100_2819.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5294335096921186002\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>This bike climbs really well and it&#8217;s slightly smaller wheel base makes it handle nicely on the east coast single track.  I can&#8217;t wait till the snow disappears to take it on some epic rides.
