I get really cold hands in the winter, which is why I have gone on and on about gloves on this blog. The Craft Lobster Claws<\/a> are great, but when it gets really cold I have to go straight up mitten. I like the OR PL 400 Mitten. <\/p>\n

It uses two layers of fleece, a 300 weight outside and a 100 weight inside. The outside is smooth so light snow does not stick to it,  you would need a shell over it if you were in deep powder or in heavy snow.<\/p>\n

 The palm and thumb have rubber gripper on them.Which is really handy when you are actually trying to hold on to something.<\/p>\n

Oh and a really nice touch, the cord on the cuff to make pulling them on easier. Which comes in handy when you already have one of the mittens on. <\/p>\n

This is a really nice warm glove for using in the cold. When it gets ridiculous out, I use a thin liner underneath it, and a goretex mitt over it. I use a really old set of OR shell<\/a>s<\/a>, which after 10 years are finally worn out. I think I will pick up a pair of their Endeavor mitts<\/a>, which are made out of Goretex Paclite.<\/p>\n
