I have been wearing a Smartwool TML Jacket for a bit now and have to say its pretty great. This is the first Smartwool jacket I have owned, I have had a few wool baselayers but never anything like this. It won’t be the last Smartwool outer layer I own.  For a jacket that feels like a light sweater it is unbelievably warm.<\/p>\n

The jacket is meant for cold days, it is heavy enough to keep you warm and it also breathes really well. I have worn it on long hikes in the mid twenties wearing a  backpack, which would normally result in a coat soaked with sweat. But this coat (and me) stayed dry as a bone.You can wear it as coat, or use it under a shell on really cold days.<\/p>\n

It has one pocket  on the chest and two side pockets for your hands. <\/div>\n

Just one of the details that should show you that the coat is really well thought out is the inner cuff on the sleeves. The cuffs use elastic to keep your heat in and to hold the sleeves in place.<\/div>\n

And then the sleeve covers the inner cuff.<\/div>\n

I have also used the TML jacket on long mt. bike rides on cold ass mornings with just a tech T-shirt  underneath and not only stayed warm but completely dry.<\/p>\n

Hands down this is the nicest wool layer I have ever worn which is no surprise considering I have been huge fan of their socks and other wool accessories for years.  I see myself buying a lot more gear from Smartwool it is worth every penny. I have been using there socks and reversible training beanie<\/a> for years. In fact I was wearing it while riding in the picture above. The TML Jacket is really nice because you can also wear it around town without looking like you are about to go climb a mountain. <\/div>\n

One more thing that is worth noting about the Smartwool TML jacket is that it stands up to the washing machine, which some cheap wool pieces can’t do.  <\/div>\n
