Lets just get this out of the way first- I have never used a better base layer than the Patagonia Merino Wool 4 Zip Neck.<\/p>\n

This base layer is perfect for wearing on its own on fall days, or layering on colder days.  The hype around wool is well deserved. Wool breathes so well, dries quickly and… here is the best part it keeps you warm when it is wet.<\/p>\n

It is a great layer for hiking or snow shoeing, I have warn it on crazy cold days as a layering piece and it has kept me warm as hell.  I never wear a long sleeve bike jerseys anymore, I just wear the Patagonia Merino Wool Base Layer. <\/p>\n

I have two of them and have used them over and over again for the last 3 years. They have been washed a ton of times and still look new. <\/p>\n

This is a great layer, and for $149 from Patagonia you would expect no less. I have seen them on sale over at moosejaw.com<\/a> though.<\/p>\n
