I recently bought a pair of Asolo Stynger GTX<\/a> boots for hiking and backpacking and so far they are fantastic! I bought a pair of gortex REI brand boots about four years ago and they have served me pretty well for the small amount of money I paid for them. I thought I really liked my REI boots until I started wearing my new Asolo’s. There has been pretty much no break in period at all, they felt great the first time I put them on and still feel awesome a couple months later. <\/p>\n

The plastic toe cap may be my favorite feature of these boots. After watching Joe stomp around in creeks and rivers in his Montrail boots for the last 12 years I knew there must be something to this awesome toe cap. <\/p>\n

They are gortex so I’ve been putting them to good use and my feet have stayed completely dry. <\/p>\n

Here is a view of the lacing system which is very nice, not too complicated, they’re easy to get on and off. <\/p>\n

The bottom line is I’m extremely psyched on these boots. They are very comfortable almost having the comfort and lightness of a regular trail running shoe but yet do not sacrifice the burliness and support of a hiking boot. I can’t wait for my next backpacking adventure with Joe and Zeus!:)<\/p>\n
