The Specialized Rime Mountain Bike Shoe is quite possibly the perfect mountain bike shoe. Yup, I said it. The Rime is great because it has features like a Vibram sole, Boa adjustment and a lightweight breathable upper. <\/p>\n

Probably the greatest thing about the Specialized Rime is the Vibram sole. Seriously I have no idea why 90% of mountain bike shoes have soles made out of hard plastic blocks coated in what I can only assume is a mix of teflon and ice. Which is terrible when you are walking down slippery rocks.  <\/p>\n

The outsole provides tons of traction with large knobs which stick to rocks and dirt. You might think this is a compromise shoe, not really meant for “serious” riding. You’d be wrong, the midsole is rigid providing a great platform for riding on. <\/p>\n

Initially I was apprehensive of the Boa closure system, but it works great. It makes adjustment a breeze, and it is totally replaceable if it wears out. <\/p>\n

I am really psyched on these shoes. I have been looking for a long time for mountain bike shoes with a Vibram sole and could not be more pleased. They sacrifice nothing in performance at all. So if you need new mountain bike kicks, pick these up. <\/p>\n
