But now that the summer has come we have one of two extremes here in the mountains: dusty-dry-sandy trails or wet trails right after an afternoon rainstorm. They were not so good in either of those conditions. Which sent me looking for new tires, I picked up the Maxxis Ardent and could not be happier.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-3S2Hnay-9ys\/UdNmNAQ5TsI\/AAAAAAAANZ0\/NQ2qlp7gyr8\/s1280\/IMGP0021.jpg\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"480\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-3S2Hnay-9ys\/UdNmNAQ5TsI\/AAAAAAAANZ0\/NQ2qlp7gyr8\/s640\/IMGP0021.jpg\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The Ardent has aggressive knobs, plenty pf room to clear mud and good traction in the dry or wet.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-9Zcl6IAdb2g\/UdNmZ6XPSTI\/AAAAAAAANZ8\/GCbhPWSNngU\/s1280\/IMGP0023.jpg\" style=\"margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"480\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/-9Zcl6IAdb2g\/UdNmZ6XPSTI\/AAAAAAAANZ8\/GCbhPWSNngU\/s640\/IMGP0023.jpg\" width=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The side knobs have a bit of an edge, so if you lean really, really, really far over you might break free, but it is rare that it happens. The larger 2.25 tire provides tons of cushion for your hardtail.
