I remember my first backpacking trip ever, I was around 12 or 13 years old. I went to the Army-Navy store to buy all of my gear. One thing I bought was a pair of Fox River Rag Wool socks. I think I wore those for about a decade. Jump forward a few decades and I am still wearing Fox River socks. They are made in America and incredibly reasonably priced. Dare I say, even cheap compared to the likes of Smart Wool and ThorLo.<\/p>\n

Fox River Wick Dry Explorer socks are a heavy weight wicking sock with tons of padding. They are not joking when they list it as heavy weight, it makes one of my pairs of boots a bit snug. The socks are the usual hiking sock height of about the bottom of your calf.<\/p>\n

The heal is reinforced and super cushiony.<\/p>\n

And most importantly they are  black dog approved.<\/p>\n
