Fanny packs are all the rage now. And with good reason, maybe? I have a long hate\/love affair with hip packs. They are AMAZING when they are done right. I use a Rivendell Mountain Works hip hugger<\/a> walking my dogs almost every day. But I have yet to find a good bike riding hip pack. My local bike shop –  Bike Fiend in Moab had this bag in stock and I have yet to find an Oveja Negra bag that is not great I went for it. It is more or less great. Let’s nerd out below. <\/p>\n

The pack does not move around much when on your waist. Well it does a bit, but what fanny pack does not? But the wide wings and side compression straps help minimize that action as much as possible. <\/p>\n

It has a nice pad on the back keeping your goods from poking you. <\/p>\n

The inside has a nice sized pocket to fit your wallet, keys, phone, etc. <\/p>\n

The closure is a roll top, but Oveja Begra addresses the fault with most rolltops by using velcro in the center,. That fault is that the rolltop can be a mess. The velcro keeps it tidy and the adjustable quick release keeps everything tight. <\/p>\n

But herein lies the only problem, I am mostly using it to carry my camera, which has its own set of challenges.  You have to take the entire pack off to access the inside, it is not quick access at all with removing it, unbuckling and then unrolling it. But maybe with a different insert it would be better? I should try another pack in the bag. I will say that this is the most stable fanny pack I have used, so that is a huge plus. <\/p>\n
