The GSI Halulite MicroDualist is a great lightweight backpacking cook set. In fact it is so nice you’ll use it for all of your camping needs not just backpacking. The MicroDualist includes EVERYTHING you need to cook in the backcountry. The folks at GSI thought of everything. I mean everything. The kit includes two cups, to bowls, a strainer, two folding sporks, a large pot and the stuff sack even doubles as a wash basin.<\/p>\n

The side of the 1.4L pot even includes an illustration on how to pack it all up.<\/p>\n

Another feature is the fold away handle. In every set cook set I have had they include a “pot grabber” or what we used to all when I was a guide “where’s-it-at”. Because you always asked “where’s it at?.  The built in handle prevents that.<\/p>\n

The 14oz cups fit inside of color coded bowls.<\/p>\n

The cups have a nice neoprene sleeve to keep the heat or cold away from your hands while keeping your drinks warm or cold.<\/p>\n

Travel cup style lids keep you from spilling your drinks.<\/p>\n

The bowls have something I have wanted in every camping cook set I have ever owned too. They double as a measuring cup. Sure you can scratch that in to your pots. But by doing so you scratch away the inner coating.<\/p>\n

A set of sporks is included, although my kit only came with one.  The sporks fold up to fit in their respective cups.<\/p>\n

The lid also works as a strainer. Pretty awesome additional use for the lid.<\/p>\n

All of that fits snugly inside the stuff sack. The stuff sack also doubles as a little wash basin as it is water tight. The folks at GSI made it so if you have a minimalist stove it will fit inside the cups and bowls and then all of it fits inside the stuff sack. I did not have a chance to test this since I have an older stove is a most definitely not minimalist.<\/p>\n

This is a great lightweight cook set. I take that back, its not a cook set. It is a whole kitchen. It is lighter than any other cooking kit I have owned plus it includes cups bowls and utensils. Taking up no room in your pack, this is what you need if you are heading in to the backcountry.<\/p>\n
