I have been wearing Lowa boots for a while now, first with their Lowa Camino LL<\/a> and then the Lowa Cevedale GTX<\/a>. When my hiking shoes<\/i> finally wore out I went to the Warming House in Estes Park <\/a>after my last long hike in Rocky Mountain National Park to get some new kicks for the trail.<\/p>\n

Since my backyard trails are pretty rocky and steep I was really interested in the Focus LL. The Focus LL is wears like a low top hiking boot, which is just what I was looking for.<\/p>\n

The tread is aggressive and sticks to rocks, mud and dusty trails. Between that tread and your foot is a very stiff midsole. Which is does wonders to keep your feet from getting beat up on uneven terrain.<\/p>\n

The Lowa Focus LL has a burly rubber toe cap to keep your toes dry and protecting one of the highest wear areas of the shoes in rocky or snowy terrain. <\/div>\n

And did I mention they look pretty cool too? In fact one of the owners of the Warming House <\/a> mentioned they use them as dress shoes! Maybe I need a second pair for work…<\/div>\n

The Focus LL is made mostly of suede with cordura used for the tongue. Having crashed through brush and more than their fare share of off trail exploring use they have held up great. <\/div>\n

The LL stands for Leather Lined(not Ladies Love as with LL Cool J, but maybe that too). The Lowa Focus LL is lined with a glove leather lining which helps keep your feet from getting blisters by lower friction and keeps them both cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. <\/div>\n

I really dig these, like I mentioned earlier they are stiff and well made. Give yourself a couple of hikes to break them in. If you need a great trail hiking shoe get the Lowa Locus LL.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
