I have purchased a lot of gloves in my day. Most have left me disappointed with ice cold hands. One day fed up with the thought of another day with cold hands I dropped some coin on a pair of huge down mountaineering mitts from Montbell.  They are nice, but not super warm. And they are so big, you have to pull your hands out to do just about anything. And when you keep pulling your hands out, they don’t get or stay warm.  But I have a solution to all of that, the Outdoor Research Phosphor Mitt.<\/div>\n

My wife picked these OR Phosphor mitts up in a shop in Estes Park and raved about how warm they are. I had to try. They are 600 Fill Down with a GoreTex Wind Stopper shell. Without being too bulky they have managed to keep my hands warmer than any other glove to date. <\/a><\/div>\n

Because of the size, you can still do things without removing the mitten. The synthetic suede palm lets you have a grip on things, I can use my camera, snow bike and clean ice out of my pups paws without taking these off.<\/p>\n

A really nice feature is a pull loop on the cuff. Making putting the gloves on a snap.<\/p>\n

The inside is fleece which keeps you hands warmer than a nylon inner. The downside is if you sweat a ton they are a bit hard to take on and off. That said, the other day it was -2\u00b0F when I was snow shoeing for 2 hours, at one point I took the mittens off and put on thing liners just to let my hands cool down! That is amazing.<\/p>\n

I love these gloves, and they are not a bad price at all. You should get them. If you plan on putting your hands in deep snow for some reason, they are not waterproof, so maybe not the best glove if you are learning to snowboard! But really they are amazing and you should get a pair.<\/p>\n
