As you may know from reading my review of the MindShift Gear Rotation 180 Trail<\/a> camera pack it is the best camera bag for carrying your bag in the back country.  I went even further and said it was one of the few pieces of gear that will improve your photography. Basically what I am saying here is this bag is pretty great. Before this I had a pile of bike bags, hiking packs, etc, but I keep bringing the Trail pack with me. Which is why I picked up the Trail rain cover for the pack.<\/p>\n

The MindShift Gear Rotation Trail  is made out of DWR material, so in most conditions you won’t need anything else. But I got the rain cover for the Trail pack in case I am out and the skies open let loose on me.<\/p>\n

The Trail Rain Cover is made of DWR ripstop with a polyurethane coating. I have used this cover in a wet snow for 2 hours with no sign of any water making it’s way through.<\/p>\n

When I first heard of the MindShift Gear line of bags I thought that they were probably just another camera bag made by people who never actually go outside. I was wrong. And this is evident in the rain cover too. The rain cover has velcro straps throughout to keep the cover in place. There are few things more annoying than thinking your gear is safe and dry only to see the cover slipped off.<\/p>\n

I was curious how the rain cover was going to allow quick access to the camera pod. They handled this by a few more velcro tabs and a loop.<\/p>\n

The cover loops over the magnetic clip.This way it moves with the camera pod door.<\/p>\n

The three remaining velcro  tabs stick to the inside of the pack to keep water off your camera.<\/p>\n

Then there is a smaller cover that fits over your camera pod keeping your camera gear dry and secure.<\/p>\n

This all fits in to a built in pocket the size of the palm of your hand. For $19 there is no reason at all you should not have this pack cover. And if you are not riding with a MindShift gear pack yet, you are probably missing great pics fumbling for your camera.<\/p>\n
