I am a fan of vests. They pack well and can keep you toasty warm. The fleece vest has been a staple in my outdoor kit for years. But on long descents wind can whip through and cool you off. Or they are a bit too warm for sunny or mild winter days. I recently picked up a Millet Softshell Track Vest which solves all of these problems.<\/p>\n

The Millet Track Vest is softshell which keeps the wind out and warmth in. But with no extra insulation beyond the softshell itself you are able to maintain warmth on both the uphill and downhill.<\/p>\n
